Example: 502 (five hundred and two) could be mistaken for 52 (fifty two) without the zero in the tens place. 0 is the integer that precedes the positive 1, and follows −1. In most (if not all) numerical systems, 0 was identified before the idea of 'negative integers' was accepted. It means "courageous one" in hieroglyphics . Zero is a number which means an amount of null size; that is, if the number of brothers is zero, that means the same thing as Zero to the power of zero, denoted by 0 0, is a mathematical expression that is either defined as 1 or left undefined, depending on context.In algebra and combinatorics, one typically defines 0 0 = 1.In mathematical analysis, the expression is sometimes left undefined. Computer programming languages and software also have differing ways of handling this expression. a/0 = b. Each side is multiplied by 0 in order to prepare to cancel out the zeros, like this: (a/0) x 0 = b x 0.
